The Optimization & Personalization Engineer will play a critical role in building and scaling Canada Life's personalization and experimentation capabilities.
Rather than focusing solely on test execution, this role will enable what is possible-expanding our use of Adobe Target and related technologies by improving data infrastructure, integrations, and platform capabilities.
You will work at the intersection of marketing, analytics, product, and engineering to unlock new personalization opportunities, improve experimentation readiness, and reduce dependency on manual processes.
This is an ideal role for someone who combines technical fluency, systems thinking, and a strong understanding of digital experimentation and customer data.
What you will do- Plan, design, and execute A/B and multivariate experiments across digital channels (e.g., web, landing pages, funnels, personalized experiences)
- Partner with stakeholders to identify experiment opportunities, develop hypotheses, and prioritize a structured experimentation roadmap
- Own and evolve our Adobe Target implementation and related capabilities
- Support Experiment test design and implementation
- Experiment design and QA Identify and unlock new use cases in personalization and experimentation
- Improve data layer implementation and event tracking
- Ensure data quality and reliability for experimentation and personalization
- Enable richer segmentation and targeting capabilities
- Support integration between Adobe Target and other platforms (e.g., analytics, CDP, CMS, SFMC
- Work in Adobe Target Visual Composer and custom Forms method to create custom web experiences
- Collaborate with UX, product, marketing, and engineering teams to implement test variants and deploy winning experiences
- Ensure experimentation follows best practices for statistical rigor, governance, and ethics
- Present findings as needed to leadership and working groups
- Maintain experimentation documentation, learnings, and testing standards
- Monitor experiment performance and identify optimization and personalization opportunities
- Contribute to the evolution of our experimentation framework, tooling, and maturity
- Evangelize a test-and-learn culture by sharing learnings and coaching partners on experimentation basics
What you will bringRequired- 2-5 years in developing experience running digital experiments (A/B, multivariate, and/or personalization)
- 2-5 years experience building within experimentation platforms (e.g., Optimizely, Adobe Target, Google Optimize, or similar)
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Enterprise Suite: Adobe Expereince Platform, Adobe Experience Manager,
- Demonstrated understanding of experimentation methodology and statistics
- Ability to analyze data and synthesize insights using analytics tools
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain results to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience writing front end code for experimentation
- Experience with Adobe Customer Journey, Adobe RealTime CDP
- Familiarity with personalization or customer journey optimization
- Experience in agile or product-led environments
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript for experiment implementation
- Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented with strong QA and problem-solving skills
- Strong Office 365 Skills including PowerPoint, Excel, and Sharepoint
Nice to Have- Strong presentation skills to be able to showcase findings to leadership groups
- Experience with digital analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, GA4)
- Data and visualization skills (eg. PowerBi, Tableau)
The base salary for this position is between
$80,400 - $130,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
