Introduction to the TeamExpedia Group and Expedia Cruises are seeking an Associate Manager to join the Cruise team. This role will sit at the intersection of accounting and financial operations - bridging Expedia' Group's accounting functions and the Cruises FinOps team. You will lead a team of 3, own the accounting processes that sit within Expedia Cruises, and play a foundational role in building scalable, automated workflows designed to grow with the business.
In this role, you will: Own & Execute- Own accounting processes for Expedia Cruises, including key general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, etc., ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Maintain clean, well-documented work products that are audit-ready and set up for seamless hand-off to Expedia Group's central accounting teams
- Assist the team in monitoring key financial operation processes, including but not limited to payments, collections and related workflows
- Act as primary point of contact for Franchisee escalations as well between Expedia Group's various finance/accounting teams and Expedia Cruises supporting audit, tax, compliance, or ad hoc requests as they arise - managing priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations across multiple workstreams simultaneously
Build & Scale- Design and implement scalable accounting processes that support the growth of the cruise business - with a deliberate focus on automation, standardization, and reducing manual effort
- Identify inefficiencies across reconciliation, payables, and collections workflows and drive process improvement initiatives through to completion
- Document processes rigorously to ensure consistency, auditability
Lead & Develop- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3 FinOps staff - setting clear expectations, managing workloads, and supporting individual growth through regular feedback and development conversations
- Manage competing priorities across the team while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and timeliness
- Represent the Cruise FinOps team in cross-functional accounting conversations and champion the team's contributions to the broader Expedia Group organization
Experience and Qualifications: Technical Foundation- CPA designation, with 4-5 years of progressive industry accounting experience; 1-2 years of people management would be ideal
- Proficiency in ERP systems (ie Oracle) and strong command of Excel
- Demonstrates understanding of how decisions and accounting outcomes connect to broader business performance - you think beyond the transaction
- Working knowledge of IFRS and GAAP, with the ability to apply accounting standards accurately within a complex, multi-entity franchise environment
- Exposure to automation tools or genuine interest in applying technology to improve accounting workflows is a strong plus

The total cash range for this position in Vancouver is $73,000.00 to $102,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $117,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
