Position SummaryThe Associate Director, Video is responsible for leading the strategic planning, investment, and execution of linear and CTV campaigns across national and local markets. This role serves as a key day-to-day lead for video investment, overseeing the development of media recommendations, managing partner relationships, and ensuring campaigns deliver against client objectives. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in linear television planning and buying, strong marketplace knowledge, and a proven ability to lead teams while driving exceptional client service.
Key ResponsibilitiesLinear TV Planning & Buying- Lead the development and execution of national and local linear television strategies aligned with client business objectives.
- Create and present media plans, marketplace recommendations, audience strategies, and investment approaches.
- Oversee the negotiation and stewardship of linear television investments across broadcast, cable, and syndication partners.
- Monitor campaign delivery, audience guarantees, pricing performance, and make-good activity.
- Identify marketplace trends, programming opportunities, and inventory strategies that drive client value.
- Ensure all plans align with budget, audience, and KPI requirements.
Client Leadership- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on linear video investment matters.
- Present strategic recommendations, performance updates, and marketplace insights to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Translate complex media data into actionable business recommendations.
Team Leadership & Development- Manage and mentor Video Managers, Sr Associates and Associates
- Foster a collaborative environment focused on accountability, development, and continuous improvement.
- Review planning and buying work to ensure accuracy, quality, and strategic rigor.
- Support career growth and provide ongoing coaching to team members.
Partner Management- Build and maintain strong relationships with network, station, and rep partners.
- Evaluate proposals and negotiate favorable pricing, value-add opportunities, and marketplace positioning.
- Leverage partner relationships to uncover innovative opportunities and maximize efficiencies.
Financial & Operational Oversight- Maintain oversight of budgets, allocations, reconciliations, and investment tracking.
- Ensure buying activities comply with agency and client guidelines.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and activation teams to resolve billing, delivery, and inventory issues.
- Drive process improvements that enhance efficiency and planning effectiveness.
Requirements:- 5+ years knowledge of the principles of advertising, marketing and media
- Knowledge of the dynamics of media - how each media element performs alone, how they perform together, and how they are constantly changing
- Understanding of the skills and functions of the Investment side of the business, as well as the Strategic Business Units' competencies
- Ability to foster a strong, cohesive working team, providing leadership and instruction
- Understanding of marketplace dynamics, working with Director to formulate marketplace strategies
- Strong overall communication skills with a focus on presentation excellence
$70,000 - $125,000
Omnicom's policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager. Our objective is to increase this requirement over time, and many of our agencies as well as Omnicom's corporate group already require five days of in-office attendance.
