Job Description

Do you thrive in hands-on treasury environments where your expertise directly influences funding decisions, liquidity management and operational excellence? As Associate Director, Treasury, you will play a pivotal role in cash forecasting, short to long-term funding, and Treasury-related controls for Novartis in the United States.

This individual contributor opportunity is ideal for a Treasury professional who enjoys combining market-facing technical expertise with operational delivery. You will apply your knowledge of the United States Commercial Paper market, build trusted relationships across finance, and help ensure the business has the liquidity required to meet its operational needs. You will also contribute to other operational activities (e.g., acquisition integrations, Treasury-related controls) and continuous improvements across Treasury Operations. While primarily focused on the United States, the role will provide opportunities to collaborate with global teams on selected projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead United States Commercial Paper issuance and funding execution to support operational liquidity requirements.
  • Monitor market conditions and apply commercial paper insights to optimize funding execution and pricing.
  • Develop accurate short-term and long-term cash forecasts to inform funding decisions.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships to identify and understand evolving business cash flow requirements.
  • Manage banking relationships, account documentation and Treasury-related controls.
  • Support acquisition integrations, share vesting activities, and operational improvement projects.

Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Seven or more years of experience in Treasury operations including cash / liquidity management and cash forecasting responsibilities.
  • Practical experience issuing United States Commercial Paper, with a strong understanding of relevant market and pricing dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across internal functions e.g., finance and external stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and influence stakeholders with sound judgement and diplomacy.

Desirable Requirements
  • Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Treasury certification including Association for Financial Professionals Certified Treasury Professional or Association of Corporate Treasurers Certificate in International Cash Management or equivalent treasury management designation


Benefits & Rewards

The salary for this position is expected to range between 119,700 - 222,300 USD per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
