Reporting into the Director, AI Learning & Leadership Programs, this role is accountable for leading the US Commercial Responsible Data and AI learning and activation program, ensuring associates and leaders understand responsible data and AI principles, practical guardrails, workflow implications, risk management, and safe adoption behaviors. The Associate Director, Ready for AI (RAI) Program Lead is responsible for owning the RAI learning roadmap, curricula, activation moments, stakeholder alignment, learner journeys, reinforcement assets, and effectiveness measurement across US Commercial.

This position will be located at East Hanover, NJ and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position will require up to 20% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/or international).

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate responsible data and AI standards into practical, role-based learning and adoption guidance for US Commercial audiences.
  • Design and deploy RAI curricula, office hours, scenarios, leader guides, FAQs, job aids, and reinforcement tools.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, DDIT, P&O and Responsible AI SMEs to ensure learning reflects enterprise guardrails and business realities.
  • Build trust in AI adoption by addressing safe use, data handling, human oversight, quality, bias, transparency, and escalation paths.
  • Measure RAI awareness, completion, understanding, confidence, and application in priority workflows.


Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, organizational development, learning, healthcare, digital, or related field; an advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • 7+ years in learning/capability building, AI adoption, risk/compliance training, digital transformation, P&O, change management, or commercial operations.
  • Experience translating complex policies, technologies, or compliance topics into practical learning for business users.
  • Strong stakeholder management, curriculum development, written communication, and facilitation skills.


Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience with responsible AI, AI governance, healthcare compliance, privacy, enterprise digital tools, or pharma commercial operations.
  • Experience developing scenario-based learning, leader toolkits, or AI guidance assets.


Novartis Compensation Summary:

The salary for this position is expected to range between $152,600 and $283,400 per year.

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.

US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.

$152,600.00 - $283,400.00
