Associate Director, Rail Operations Planning

About the Role

Building on our continued success, we are looking for an experienced professional to join our team as an Associate Director, Rail Operations Planning . This post will be based from our New York location, we offer flexibility and hybrid working.

In this role, you will be w orking as part of a multi-disciplined rail consultancy team, providing project management and leadership in the subject of all rail infrastructure work delivery, planning, and logistics, supporting clients through identifying operational and infrastructure delivery improvements and managing change. In addition, develop detailed work planning and logistics offerings in North America.

What will you be doing?

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide expertise on the end to end process of; development, delivery and assurance for products and services against relevant Service Contract to drive an improving customer perception trend.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives, in the fields of; critical resource delivery, resource planning, infrastructure works planning and outage / ROW access management.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to develop and implement innovative strategies which meet business requirements, maximizing benefits and efficiency opportunities and minimizing risk.
  • Provide rail best practice in the fields of operational interfaces, works planning and logistics.
  • Assist in the identification and on-boarding of talent required to support projects and bids.
  • Support the business development team in technical writing for proposals and bids.
  • Develop detailed infrastructure works planning and logistic offerings.

Job Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level with a relevant degree/equivalent experience.
  • Ability to implement and maintain a safety culture using robust safety leadership skills.
  • Strong strategic focus with the ability to formulate and drive the delivery of strategic objectives.
  • Proven track record of outstanding team leadership.
  • Detailed knowledge of the rail infrastructure planning constraints and processes.
  • Highly skilled senior relationship manager, experienced in managing end-to-end client, customer, and supplier relationships.
  • Advanced influencing and negotiations skills with the ability to influence develop mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Advance knowledge of depot and facility management
  • Lead on continuous improvement skills, i.e., LEAN/Six Sigma.
  • Detailed knowledge of rail plant, wagons, seasonal fleet and on-track machine management and operation.

Desirable

  • Member of a relevant professional institution.
  • Knowledge of railway operations, including safety rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of rail plan and on-track machine management, maintenance, and operation.
