Associate Director - Valuations

Locations: Los Angeles, CA, Denver, CO - HYBRID

About the Role:

Performs valuations of the clients Derivatives portfolio and perform valuation control function on the funds portfolio. These valuations are used for collateral margin calculations, providing daily PNL and in the fund’s NAV process. SS&C valuations are generated through internal analytics which are based on standard market models used across the industry. The underlying data is sourced from leading market vendors. Valuation control function involves independent verification of the final source prices which are determined in accordance with the funds valuation policy and in compliance with SS&C’s internal pricing procedures. Manager of staff leaders for multiple departments, or manager of professionals who work on issues that require in-depth knowledge or specialized skills. Exercises wide-latitude to make decisions to achieve defined goals. Establishes operational objectives and provides strong tactical leadership. Coordinates with senior management or executives on critical cross-departmental or functional issues, removing barriers to operational success. Participates in the development and implementation of company policies. Accountable for the results of one or more departments.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Support client inquiries, audits, and other valuation-related requests.
  • Manage department activities and ensure delivery of quality results within established policies and procedures.

Required Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, related field or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of experience in derivatives valuation, pricing, valuation control, fund accounting, or a related financial services function.
  • Knowledge of market data, pricing models, and independent price verification processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience leading or managing a small team.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet daily deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Excel and financial systems; experience with valuation or market data platforms is preferred.

    Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.

    California: The expected base salary for the position is between $90,000 USD to $200,000 USD. Colorado: The expected base salary for the position is between $80,000 USD to $160,000 USD.

     

     

    In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company’s discretion.
