Responsibilities

  • Oversee utilization review committees across all health facilities.
  • Review legislation and implement relevant administrative procedures and policies.
  • Represent the corporation in negotiations with Professional Standards Review Organization.

Full Job Description
Work Shifts

Day Shift: 9am to 5pm

Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose of Position:
Under general supervision, develops and maintains systems for monitoring standards for professional activities as mandated under Federal and State legislation. Provides guidance and advice with respect to policies and priorities in the development of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review.

Examples of Typical Tasks:
1. Monitors hospital performance to assure compliance with professional standards.
2. Directs and coordinates the implementation of hospitals' representation and participation in Professional Standards Review Organization.
3. Monitors utilization review committees in all health facilities.
4. Reviews legislation and implementing administrative procedures and policies of Professional Standards Review Organization in New York City.
5. Represents the Corporation in negotiations and discussions with P.S.R.O. representatives.

Minimum Qualifications

* Qualification for Central Office.
# Qualification for Health Care Facility.
1. a. A Baccalaureate Degree in Public Administration, Public Health or Health Care Specialization; and,
b. Five* years or four# years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital administration, with particular emphasis on development and evaluation of health care delivery services; or,
2. a. A Masters Degree in Public Administration, Public Health or Health Care Specialization; and,
b. Four* years or three# years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital administration, with particular emphasis on development and evaluation of health care delivery services.

Department Preferences
1. Strong preference for Clinical discipline - RN, MD, PA.
2. 5 years of clinical experience in a Acute Care Hospital Setting, excellent interpersonal and writing skills.
3. Prior experience in Risk Management, Patient Safety and Quality Management a plus.
