Job Title: Associate Director, Forecasting - Systemic Mastocytosis (SM)

Strategic Context:Currently, Sanofi has the most robust pipeline and forthcoming product launches in the company's history. As the next phase of our Play-To-Win strategy, Sanofi must appropriately support this pipeline to materialize our vision of delivering scientific miracles to patients worldwide. Thus, modernizing the Sanofi operational structure to include a Go-to-Market Capabilities (GTMC) team within the company.
The new GTMC organization is charged with delivering best-in-class capabilities to bring speed and increased value to commercial operations. Operating with a One Sanofi mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, GTMC will accelerate and improve key capabilities to facilitate the best-informed strategic decision making across the organization.
The GTMC organization aims to:
- Centralize Go-to-Market operational tasks across business units.
- Standardize best-in-class capabilities, strengthen global support, and implement a better vertical reporting structure within GTMC from local to global.
- Define ways of working, bringing clarity on the interactions across GBUs, Digital, and Commercial executional support teams from Sanofi hubs to optimize process excellence and efficiency.
The
Associate Director, Forecasting - Systemic Mastocytosis (SM) will be a key member of the Insights and Analytics (I&A) team, responsible for leading forecasting activities for treatments within the Sanofi Systemic Mastocytosis portfolio - first for AYVAKIT, and then for future / pipeline SM products. This individual will be an integral strategic partner to Sanofi US Commercial leadership, collaborating with a range of cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Market Access, Digital / IT, Launch Excellence, etc.) to develop accurate, actionable short & long-range sales forecasts for in-line and future indications and deliver proactive, strategic insights on potential threats / opportunities.
This position will report to the Director, Insights & Analytics - Systemic Mastocytosis (SM) and will be based in Cambridge, MA or Morristown, NJ.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Commercial team, Finance, and other cross-functional partners to develop, document, and communicate accurate patient / volume / revenue forecasts for annual long-term Strategic Planning & Budget cycles, bi-annual medium-term forecast updates, and monthly near-term Rolling Forecast updates.
- Coordinate with Finance business partners and forecasters in other therapeutic areas to coordinate forecast cycle deliverables and promote harmonization across assets & functions.
- In partnership with Analytics & Finance colleagues, provide key end-of-month closing deliverables (i.e., price / volume & demand / inventory analyses).
- Provide monthly updates to Commercial leadership on performance and near-term forecast outlook, integrating latest actuals, analytics, Market Research, CI, etc.
- Support model enhancements to ensure forecasts for in-line & launch products reflect strategic direction of each brand (e.g., segmentation, patient flow, etc.).
- Collaborate with Market Research to plan & design studies that provide key forecast inputs (e.g., demand study / conjoint exercises).
- Partner with Finance and Market Access to incorporate latest GTN and access assumptions, conduct payer mix analyses, and generate price / volume waterfalls.
- Leverage resources such as analogue analyses & external forecasts (e.g., syndicated / analyst reports) to pressure-test and refine forecast assumptions.
- Work with Global forecasting to ensure that US forecast deliverables align to Global guidance and properly integrate with Global forecast aggregation process.
- Work with Finance and Demand Planning to ensure the most appropriate forecast (by SKU) is delivered for monthly supply chain planning activities.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Patient Support Services and Finance to assess the value of proposed initiatives and / or risks posed by market events; deliver ad-hoc analyses that leverage forecast models to answer key business questions.
- Collaborate with Data Management, Analytics, and external data providers to conduct periodic reviews of key model inputs to ensure forecast accuracy.
- Coach junior team members for onboarding, upskilling and Sanofi specific processes / data.
About YouBasic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, MD, PhD) preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech forecasting (experience may be gained at a manufacturer OR at a life sciences consulting firm specializing in pharma/biotech forecasting)
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining Excel-based forecast models is required
- Strong business acumen, with well-developed communication & presentation skills
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry data sources (e.g., IQVIA patient-level data, syndicated reports, specialty pharmacy data) and payer/health insurance environment
- Excellent project management skills, able to deftly balance multiple priorities
- Ability to work in a matrixed environment with many cross-functional partners
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience in relevant therapeutic areas (Rare Disease, Oncology, Hematology)
- Programming languages (VBA, SQL, R, Python, etc.)
- Proficiency with cloud-based data warehouse/analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks)

The salary range for this position is:
$148,500.00 - $214,500.00
