Full Job Description

Position Summary:

The Associate Director, Customer Insights & Engagement leads brand analytics and insight-generation for the U.S. Neuroscience business. This is fundamentally a brand analytics role: the majority of the mandate is tracking brand performance, understanding key drivers of the business, and supporting demand planning, drawing on market research as one input among several. The Associate Director works under the guidance of the Senior Director, Neuroscience Commercial Analytics & Insights, while operating with a high degree of autonomy on day-to-day insight delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the brand analytics agenda for a Neuroscience launch brand — tracking performance against launch goals, translating volume and share movement into a clear "what's driving the number" narrative for brand leadership.

  • Integrate and synthesize data across sources — APLD, IQVIA, Symphony/SHS, claims, specialty pharmacy/hub data, patient chart data, and BrandImpact — into a single, reliable view of brand performance.

  • Build and maintain predictive models and performance dashboards (TRx/NBRx trending, demand planning, decile-based targeting effectiveness, patient persistency/adherence, payer mix impact) that give brand teams an early read rather than a rearview mirror.

  • Lead quarterly and ad hoc brand performance reviews — diagnosing over/under-performance versus forecast and recommending resource reallocation across channels, segments, and geographies.

  • Define and track the KPI framework used by brand leadership to evaluate performance — establishing metrics, targets, and reporting cadence, and evolving them as the brand matures.

  • Commission and scope targeted primary or secondary market research where existing data can't answer the question.

  • Map the end-to-end HCP and patient journey — from diagnosis through treatment initiation and adherence — to identify data gaps and translate findings into targeting recommendations for PSS, sales, and marketing.

  • Partner on AI tool execution: act as the business-side partner for AI-powered analytics tools (e.g., conversational query interfaces), covering requirements, data-governance guardrails, and adoption with Brand teams.

  • Collaborate with the Commercial Analytics Center of Excellence to ensure methodology, tooling, and reporting standards are consistent and reusable across the Neuroscience portfolio.

  • Partner with Brand, Medical, Sales, and Access teams to proactively answer business questions, support senior leadership presentations, and provide data-based recommendations on strategic choices.

  • Represent Customer Insights & Engagement in franchise-level forums, shaping how insights inform long-term Neuroscience commercial strategy.

  • Champion a continuous-improvement mindset — surfacing emerging trends, tools, and best practices that elevate the organization's insight-generation maturity.

  • Contribute to the transition from brand-specific analytics toward an enterprise-ready, scalable analytics playbook for future launches.

  • This role does not have direct people management responsibilities but provides direction to junior analysts, peers, and vendor partners on project execution.

  • Ensure all research, data use, and AI tool deployment adhere to BMS compliance, privacy, and governance standards.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech brand analytics, commercial analytics, or demand planning, with a strong grasp of the key drivers of the business; neuroscience, psychiatry, or CNS therapeutic area experience strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (Master's, MBA, or PhD) preferred.

  • Working familiarity with AI-enabled analytics tools (predictive modeling, generative AI query interfaces) in a commercial setting.

  • Proven ability to synthesize secondary data and real-world/claims data into insights that hold up under senior leadership scrutiny.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing cross-functional and governance forums without formal authority.

  • Proficiency with industry-standard data sources and platforms (IQVIA, Symphony/SHS, APLD, claims) and modern analytics/BI tooling.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to translate complex analytics into a clear, decision-ready narrative for non-technical audiences.

  • Strategic Collaborator — a trusted advisor to brand teams, bridging insights, strategy, and execution.

  • Customer-First Mindset — champions understanding and serving patients and providers across every engagement touchpoint.

  • AI-Forward Builder — excited to shape how AI and advanced analytics get used in practice, not just in theory.

  • Enterprise Mindset — balances brand-specific needs with broader Neuroscience and BMS commercial analytics priorities.

  • Innovative Thinker — anticipates where the market and the tooling are headed, and moves the team there early.

If you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn’t perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway. You could be one step away from work that will transform your life and career.
