Associate Director - Community Engagement Site Lead Social Impact Community Engagement advances Lilly's commitment to improving lives through strategic community engagement, employee giving, and volunteerism. This role owns and drives the delivery of Lilly's Community Engagement strategy across key manufacturing sites, aligned to enterprise priorities.
Purpose:You'll build the model for how Lilly shows up in the communities where it manufactures medicine - starting with new sites, then setting the standard the rest of the network follows.
This isn't a coordination role; you lead the strategy, the governance, and develop the relationships that shape how community engagement gets done across Lilly's manufacturing footprint.
Based in Indianapolis, up to 50% travel.

Right now we need a leader who will ensure that engagement is consistent, well-governed, and actually measurable across sites - you'd be the person who builds that and holds sites accountable to it.
What you'll own• Community engagement strategy at new manufacturing sites - from first entry into a community through embedding engagement into site culture
• The governance model for site-level community engagement: standards, decision rights, approval pathways, and escalation thresholds that determine what you decide versus what goes to site leadership
• Strategic partnerships with nonprofit, civic, and community stakeholders, including representing Lilly externally in those relationships
• Alignment of enterprise programs (United Way, Global Day of Service, employee giving) with local site execution, adapting where local market needs require it
• KPI definition and tracking for community engagement impact, plus the executive reporting and storytelling that shows the value beyond dollars donated
• Reputational, operational, and compliance risk related to community engagement activities across sites
What success looks like in year one• A documented governance model (standards, decision rights, escalation path) adopted at our newest manufacturing site
• Implementation of a repeatable playbook or framework that new sites could pick up and execute without you rebuilding it from scratch
• A KPI dashboard or reporting structure that lets you show impact to executive stakeholders in concrete, non-dollar terms (e.g., relationships built, community trust indicators, program reach)
Must-haves (basic requirements)
• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in community engagement, social impact, or corporate philanthropy
• A specific, citable example of designing and leading a community engagement or social impact program at scale (multi-site, multi-market, or enterprise-wide - not a single one-off event)
• Direct experience leading a cross-functional initiative involving at least 3 different functions (e.g., HR, Legal, Communications, Site Leadership) where you did not have direct authority over the other participants

Strongly preferred• Hands-on program design and delivery experience specifically in corporate community engagement or social impact (not adjacent fields like marketing or general CSR reporting)
• Experience working within a manufacturing, HR, or government affairs environment
• A specific example of translating an enterprise-level strategy into a local execution plan that a site team actually implemented
• Experience building an executive-facing impact report or presentation that used data/storytelling to demonstrate value beyond spend
Additional Information- Position will require extensive travel (up to 50% travel)

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$132,000 - $193,600
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
