The PositionThe Associate Director provides site-wide leadership for cLEAN® and ensures the line of business translates "operating in a cLEAN® way" into measurable actions and results. The role drives and maintains strong working relationships and communication with key stakeholders, and champions and models a cLEAN® mindset by mentoring cLEAN® partners and all levels of site leadership in cLEAN® methodology.
RelationshipsReports to Director or Above.
Essential Functions- Overall cLEAN® Team responsible
- Participate in BIO PSG, PCG networks to support development & alignment of the API US BIO Team
- Meet or exceed internal customer, business owner, & regulatory requirements in accordance with the Novo Nordisk Way of Management
- Teach, coach, & mentor direct reports to develop the cLEAN® maturity to include driving the day process management systems (Shopfloor)
- Develop & coach BL site leaders in cLEAN® methodologies & to manage processes & projects "in a cLEAN® way" in alignment with the Novo cLEAN statement
- Direct, coach, & mentor to Star project leaders (2S, 3S)
- Coach / mentor managers & sponsors for proper 2- & 3-Star utilization
- Collaborate & develop synergies with Standardization team
- Facilitate value stream mapping (VSM) processes to support projects, director & site level strategy
- Establish & maintain an effective connection with cLEAN® Academy
- Serve as process improvement change agent & resource for the site
- Liaise with the corporate cLEAN® office as well as cLEAN® networks to share information, standards & best practices
- Facilitate major site investigations, GLS, Process Confirmation, A3 & perform other activities as required
- Manage department in accordance with the NNWay
- Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
Physical RequirementsAbility to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)

Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in related field of study from an accredited university required and a minimum of nine (9) years of relevant experience required
- In lieu of Bachelor's Degree with nine (9) years of experience, may consider an Associate's Degree in related field of study from an accredited college or university with a minimum of eleven (11) years of relevant experience required
- In lieu of Bachelor's Degree with nine (9) years of experience, may consider a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of thirteen (13) years of relevant experience required
- Experienced change agent able to inspire others & to change the thinking of others at multiple levels of an organization required Demonstrated LEAN mindset & understanding of the application of LEAN tools & thinking in a manufacturing organization required
- Solid understanding of LEAN principles & ability to apply LEAN/Six Sigma concepts to improve business results required
- Ability to support A3 problem solving & LEAN Shopfloor management systems required
- Ability to work cross functionally & lead internal consultants to enable change & improvements across administrative & production functions ranging from Quality/QC, Business Support (Logistics, Warehouse, IT/Automation, EHS, Finance, Facilities Maintenance), Production Support (Maintenance Planning, Metrology, RCM, Investment Projects), P&O, Operations, & Project Office required
- Proven expertise in planning/organizing, managing execution, confirming results & improving processes required
- Ability to drive process solutions by working proactively with a broad range of user stakeholders required
- Advanced project knowledge required
