Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Center for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL), the Associate Director manages the implementation of Fordham's Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) courses and related faculty and community engagement initiatives. The role serves as a key liaison among faculty, community partners, and University offices and provides programmatic, administrative, budgetary, and logistical support for CEL and Bronx Research Institute for Community Solutions (BRICS) initiatives. This position may require occasional evening, weekend, and extended hours to support programs, events, and other operational needs.
Essential Functions
Serves as the primary operational point of contact for Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) courses, coordinating activities from initial planning through course completion and ensuring faculty, students, and community partners receive appropriate programmatic and administrative support.
In coordination with CCEL's Faculty Fellow, maintains regular communication with engaged faculty and supports course planning, community engagement, administrative requirements, budgets, scheduling, student experiences, workshops, resources, and other faculty engagement initiatives.
Coordinates operational requirements for CEL courses, including community partner connections, site visits, transportation, events, classroom and community-based activities, purchasing and reimbursements, student documentation, budgets, and other course logistics. Maintains records of courses, faculty participation, community partners, activities, expenditures, and key deadlines and provides timely follow-up to keep initiatives on track.
In collaboration with Community Affairs, supports relationships with organizations participating in CEL courses, coordinates course-based projects and opportunities, establishes clear expectations, and facilitates communication among faculty, students, CCEL, and community partners.
Supports the Bronx Research Institute for Community Solutions (BRICS) in coordination with the BRICS Director, Faculty Fellow, faculty researchers, and community partners, including project administration, meetings, institutional processes, documentation, and follow-up activities.
Develops and coordinates communications related to CEL courses, faculty opportunities, BRICS, and other CCEL initiatives. Captures and shares program activities, experiences, outcomes, and community partnerships to increase awareness of CCEL's work and impact.

Additional Functions
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible professional experience in community engagement, community-engaged learning, program coordination, research administration, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with community partners, faculty, students, and other stakeholders, preferably in an urban setting.
Experience coordinating programs, projects, events, and logistics involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, budgets, documentation, and follow-up activities.
Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to academic and non-academic audiences.
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in support of Fordham University's Jesuit mission and commitment to community-engaged education and social impact.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a relevant field.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Knowledge of the local K-12 education landscape, particularly in the Bronx and New York City.
Familiarity with nonprofit and community-based organizations in the Bronx.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Proficiency with Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Forms, Drive, and Calendar.
