Position OverviewWe're looking for an
Associate Director, Architecture to join our studio team. In this role, you'll lead project management efforts and oversee a team of Project Managers and Associates. You'll ensure quality, profitability, and timely delivery across projects while mentoring staff and supporting their professional development.
What You'll Do- Lead and manage a team of Project Managers and Associates.
- Promote teamwork and coordinate job assignments for optimal utilization.
- Review project budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Monitor project phases, budgets, and accounts receivable.
- Perform quality assurance and involve specialists as needed.
- Act as Senior Project Manager for assigned projects
- Mentor and coach team members; support career development.
- Provide technical development of various project types; facade restoration, exterior rehabilitation, window/fenestration replacement, historic preservation, forensic investigation and interior alterations, etc.
- Report on staffing needs and workload to Studio Director.
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and business development.
- Champion HLZAE's mission, vision, and core values.
What You'll BringRequired:- 10+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, or related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software. Adaptable to changing technology.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Knowledgeable of NYC Building Codes.
Preferred:- Experience with façade restoration and building envelope consulting.
- Certified QEWI (Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector)
- Professional certifications or licenses (e.g., RA, PE).
- Work at heights - support and suspended scaffolding.
Work Environment & Schedule- This position is based in New York, NY, with a hybrid work schedule.
- Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Travel requirements: To local job sites as required.
Compensation & Benefits- Salary range: $150,000 - $165,000, based on knowledge, skills, and experience.
