The Impact you will have in this role:

Being a member of IT Strategy & Business Management team, this role role specializes in planning, documenting technical requirements, designing, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm. Works closely with architects, product managers, project management, and end-users in the development and enhancement of existing software systems and applications, proposing and recommending solutions that solve complex business problems. The Associate Director of AI / Generative AI Engineering to lead the design, adoption, and operational excellence of enterprise-grade GenAI solutions. This role owns LLM-based architectures, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and AI-driven data access patterns, and is accountable for embedding Generative AI capabilities into mission-critical business workflows in a secure, scalable, and compliant manner.

You will serve as a technical and execution leader, partnering with product, data, cloud, and risk teams to drive responsible AI adoption across the enterprise.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

AI Architecture & Platform Leadership
  • Own the end-to-end architecture of GenAI solutions, including LLM integration, RAG pipelines, vector search, and AI-assisted data access
  • Lead the design and implementation of production-grade AI systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and resiliency
  • Define and govern Text-to-SQL and AI-driven analytics patterns for dynamic, secure access to enterprise data
  • Establish architectural standards and reference patterns for AI usage across applications and workflows

Delivery Accountability & Operational Excellence
  • Accountable for production readiness, model lifecycle management, and operational stability of GenAI platforms
  • Partner with Cloud and DevOps teams to ensure AI solutions are securely deployed, monitored, and observable
  • Ensure AI solutions meet enterprise security, data protection, governance, and compliance requirements
  • Act as an escalation point for complex AI architecture, performance, or risk issues

Cross-Functional & Enterprise Collaboration
  • Partner with Product, Backend, Data, and Platform teams to embed AI capabilities into end-to-end workflows
  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Security teams to implement responsible AI controls and governance
  • Communicate technical trade-offs, risks, and AI adoption strategy to senior technology and business stakeholders

People Leadership & Technical Stewardship
  • Lead, mentor, and develop AI and data-focused engineers
  • Set expectations for engineering rigor, documentation quality, and architectural discipline
  • Drive knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices across teams and platforms
  • Contribute to hiring, capability assessment, and succession planning for AI engineering roles

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.
