Job DescriptionThe Corporate Strategy team is responsible for Lazard's strategic direction and corporate development. The team partners directly with senior leaders across the firm on the highest-priority initiatives facing the firm, including firm-wide strategic planning, evaluation of partnerships and new business lines, and advising leadership on competitive positioning, capital allocation, and long-term growth.
The team is small and highly cross-functional, partnering closely with both Financial Advisory and Asset Management leadership and working alongside corporate functions such as Finance, Legal, and Human Resources on assignments that are often confidential and time-sensitive.
The Corporate Strategy Associate will report to the Head of Strategy & Investor Relations and will work directly in support of the CFO, CEO, and other C-suite leaders. The role offers exposure to and mentorship from Lazard's most senior leadership, involvement in high-visibility, firm-defining assignments, and an accelerated development curve inside a high-caliber team.
Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesThe role will vary day to day and evolve as new priorities emerge. Generally, the Associate will be expected to own discrete workstreams, develop analyses and recommendations, and help drive execution across the following areas:
Strategic Execution & Analysis
- Lead analyses and workstreams tied to Lazard's 2030 strategic priorities
- Conduct market, financial, and competitive analyses to inform senior leadership decisions
- Build and own quantitative models and analytical frameworks that inform critical strategic decisions and processes
- Track, interpret, and synthesize KPIs and operating metrics for senior leadership
Executive Deliverables & Leadership Support
- Translate complex analysis into concise insights, narratives, and recommendations suitable for senior management audiences
- Develop clear, accurate, and visually compelling executive materials, including presentations, dashboards, and briefing materials
- Support Board-related workstreams by synthesizing cross-functional inputs and framing key strategic, financial, and operational topics for discussion and decision-making
Cross-Firm Collaboration
- Build trusted relationships across the firm to facilitate cross-functional coordination, information flow, and execution discipline
- Partner with cross-functional or external teams on strategic projects, advancing workstreams from analysis through implementation
- Mentor and guide analysts on select workstreams, helping ensure analytical rigor, clear communication, and timely execution
- Serve as connective tissue between senior leadership and working teams, ensuring alignment on objectives, timelines, and deliverables
QualificationsCandidates should be top professional performers with the analytical rigor, maturity, work ethic, and client-service mindset typically developed in a leading investment banking analyst program The role requires strong quantitative skills, sound business judgment, the ability to solve complex problems, and experience developing financial and operational analyses in fast-moving situations.
Successful candidates will have:
- Four to six years of experience in investment banking or private equity, typically including completion of a banking analyst program or an MBA
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills, with a demonstrated command of M&A and corporate finance concepts
- A strong interest in corporate strategy, corporate development, and the strategic priorities of a global financial services firm
- Exceptional academic performance, intellectual curiosity, creativity, and attention to detail
- Track record of excellence and impact in high-stakes professional environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, executive-ready materials
- Ability to structure ambiguous problems, pressure-test assumptions, and develop practical recommendations for senior decision-makers
- Strong project-management skills, resourcefulness, and poise under pressure
- Extraordinary discretion given the sensitive and often market-moving nature of the team's work
- High standards for accuracy, judgment, and quality of work product

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $185,000 - $225,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant's years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and relevant skills for the role. Base salary is one component of Lazard's compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
