Job DescriptionAs an Associate focused on Capital Structure and Financing Advisory within the Corporate Finance Advisory team, you will support and advise Lazard's corporate and sponsor clients in capital structure and capital allocation optimization, along with capital raising efforts, across a broad range of topics, including M&A, corporate separations and optimizations, refinancing, and other advisory projects and assignments that intersect with the capital markets. The team's objective is to create market-agnostic solutions for our clients: one team working with our clients to optimize for their situation and, when appropriate, executing on the company's behalf. We work across the full spectrum of corporate capital structures. The Associate will be exposed both to public and private capital markets, and work with sector banking teams and clients across all sectors to connect the capital markets to Lazard's clients.
We'll trust you to:- Advise public and private companies on optimization of capital structure, capital allocation decisions and activities, interaction with the capital markets and overall financing activities
- Lead financing advisory assignments in support of M&A and other strategic advisory assignments
- Develop content for client meetings, substantiate advice with data and analytics and lead client presentations
- Track public and private market developments and transactions
- Interact with senior bankers and clients
- Manage analysts, supervise projects and help guide career development
You'll need to have:- 2-4 years of experience in Investment Banking, with a particular focus on experience in a capital markets advisory, capital markets origination and / or capital markets execution capacity
- Experience in transaction services, familiarity with complex accounting and structuring issues, or experience analyzing and understanding implications of complex deal structures is helpful
- Experience in credit analysis and debt documentation may also be helpful
- Outstanding quantitative, analytical and qualitative skills including database analytics experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal skills
- A desire to work in an intellectually demanding, fast-paced, and creative environment
- A desire to manage, train, and mentor junior team members
- Excellent technical skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, Factset, AI tools) and ability to quickly learn new databases and applications
- A strong academic record
- Interest in broadening skillset beyond a single product in financial services

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $185,000 - $250,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant's years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and relevant skills for the role. Base salary is one component of Lazard Financial Advisory's compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
