Aon is looking for an Associate Compensation Consultant - Employee Rewards - Boston, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Denver, San Francisco, or near any major Aon office

Aon's Rewards & Workforce Advisory team, part of the Human Capital Solutions practice, is seeking an Associate Compensation Consultant to join our Employee Rewards advisory practice.

This is an opportunity to help clients make better workforce and rewards decisions by applying market data, analytical insight, and practical consulting expertise. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

This role will support a wide variety of compensation related projects including job architecture, market benchmarking, career frameworks, total rewards across technology, life sciences, financial services, manufacturing, energy, retail, and related industries.

What the day will look like

  • Support deliverables for small-to-medium-sized projects or defined workstreams within larger, complex engagements, including outlining work steps, tracking progress, documenting next steps, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Develop high-quality, client-ready deliverables that synthesize and interpret complex information beyond standard templates.
  • Support and complete compensation design, job architecture, job evaluation, salary structure development, incentive target analysis, cost modeling, and impact analysis.
  • Review and take accountability for methodology, analysis, and outputs across staffed projects.
  • Serve as a key resource among engagement leaders, project teams, and clients to support effective communication and execution.
  • Develop reports and presentations that clearly communicate findings, methodologies, implications, and recommendations.


Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 1 - 3 years of human resources, compensation consulting and/or relevant experience.
  • Ability to translate data into meaningful insights and clearly articulate the "so what," including identifying results that deviate from expectations or warrant further review.
  • Ability to build complex Excel workbooks, develop insights that support project objectives, and lead projects across standard practice offerings.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate proactively, clearly, and transparently with a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of complex data into accessible findings and practical business implications.
  • Strong consultative skills, including relationship building, process management, facilitation, and effective collaboration within teams.
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Experienced candidates may be considered for a Senior Associate role.

Education
  • A bachelor's degree is required.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $80,000 - $90,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any [bonus] [production incentives] varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
