Full Job Description
The Fire Department, City of New York (FDNY), seeks a full-time Associate Commissioner. Reporting directly to the Office of the Fire Commissioner, the Associate Commissioner will serve as the Department's principal advisor on organizational performance, strategic analytics, process improvement, and enterprise transformation. The selected candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for evaluating organizational effectiveness, analyzing operational and administrative performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting executive decision-making through data-driven insights. This position will partner with Bureau Chiefs, Deputy Commissioners, uniformed leadership, and civilian executives to improve operational performance, modernize business processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the Department. Serve as the Departments executive advisor on organizational performance, enterprise analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and implement a department-wide performance management framework aligned with the Commissioners strategic priorities. Partner with internal stakeholders and lead enterprise-wide improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, Business Process Improvement (BPI), and other continuous improvement methodologies. Identify operational inefficiencies, organizational risks, and opportunities to improve service delivery through quantitative and qualitative analysis. Develop executive dashboards, performance scorecards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and strategic reports for executive leadership.

Qualifications
1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college and 4 years of satisfactory experience of a nature to qualify for the duties and responsibilities of the position, at least 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity or supervising personnel performing activities related to the duties of the position; or
2. A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must have the 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive, consultative or supervisory experience described in "1" above.
