This role sits within the Client Portfolio Management team and supports senior Client Portfolio Managers primarily across equities and fixed income strategies. The Associate will contribute to portfolio analytics, investment commentary, and presentations by translating investment insights into clear and valuable insights for investors.

This role is suited to individuals looking to build broad investment knowledge and commercial awareness across the retail and institutional investment landscape.

Accountabilities

Investment Analytics & Portfolio Support

  • Prepare and maintain portfolio analytics using data from platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, and internal systems.

  • Work with the Analytics team and assist in the setup, maintenance, and interpretation of performance attribution and reporting.

  • Develop a strong understanding of portfolio construction frameworks, asset allocation decisions, and positioning across strategies.

Investment Communication

  • Draft highadquality investment materials including market commentaries, portfolio reviews, investment updates, and internal briefing notes.

  • Support the development and ongoing improvement of presentations and marketing collateral

  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications teams to ensure investment content is accurate, consistent, and aligned with firm standards.

Coordination & Project Support

  • Act as a point of coordination between Client Portfolio Management, Portfolio Management, Product, Sales, and Operations teams on analytics, reporting, and investmentadrelated initiatives.

  • Proactively follow up on deliverables, resolve data or process issues, and ensure timely completion of assigned projects.

  • Support strategic initiatives including new product development and enhancements to institutional offerings.

  • Contribute to responses for RFPs, due diligence questionnaires, consultant reviews, and adadhoc requests.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience

  • 1ad4 years of experience in asset management, wealth management, or investment consulting

  • Progress toward CFA is preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial markets, different asset classes, and portfolio construction

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, FactSet, or similar platforms is an asset

  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate market and portfolio data into valuable insights for both retail and institutional investment audiences.

  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities

Salary:

$63,700.00 - $118,300.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Groupadads expected target for the first year in this position.
