Full Job Description
The Role

This role is a strategic enabler for Praxis's next season of serving our capital community, strengthening development and capital program operations that allow our team to steward funder relationships. By bridging fundraising operations and program execution, the Associate for Capital will ensure that the experiences we create for funders translate into deeper partnership and sustained engagement in our community. Half the role is spent on the operational backbone of Praxis's fundraising work, including donor stewardship, grants management, and funder communications. The other half of the role is spent running the day-to-day of the Capital Fellowship, our signature cohort-based program for investors and philanthropists. This role will report directly to the Principal for Praxis Capital, with a growing scope of independent ownership over time in building fluency with both development operations and program execution.
Key Areas of Responsibility

Development Operations (50%)
  • Manage grant reporting workflows, including draft grant proposals and progress reports
  • Support reporting and analysis of our fundraising activities (e.g., building out development pipeline interfaces to inform Development Working Group meetings)
  • Manage recurring updates for all funding presentations that our team uses when speaking with potential partners
  • Perform weekly logging of gifts and update pipeline records based on call notes and Slack requests from Community Managers
  • Support Founder Circle experience operations (e.g., quarterly Partner Update communications execution, year-end thank-you, and Vision & Strategy communications and event execution)
  • Manage weekly and monthly donor operations tasks (e.g., gift receipts, drafting gift reminders and thank-you notes for Community Managers to send)
  • Conduct prospect research to develop a deeper understanding of the philanthropic priorities of our capital community

Capital Program Operations (50%)
  • Manage recruiting and onboarding for the Capital Fellowship cohort, in partnership with the Capital Fellowship Venture Partner and Principal for Praxis Capital
  • Draft, prepare, and send communications for the Capital Fellowship fellows and mentors (e.g., sending attendee prep emails, responding to mentor and fellow pre-event questions)
  • Own program content and agenda details (e.g., event book, scripts, run of show, onsite mentor pairing), while also coordinating with the events team for a clean handoff of onsite logistics
  • Manage up effectively with the Capital Fellowship Venture Partner, bringing judgment and initiative to ensure review things at key milestones (e.g., agenda decisions, plenary assignments, breakout assignments)
  • Support Principal for Capital in offering portfolio services to Capital Fellows in previous years' cohorts (e.g., introduction requests, annual gathering at Summit of Capital Fellow alumni)
  • Support with planning and execution for other programs that serve our capital community (e.g., add-on programming at regional gatherings, half-day capital workshops, design sessions for funders)
Expected Competencies & Ideal Prior Experience
  • Donor Stewardship: Passion for building and maintaining systems that cultivate funder relationships with gratitude, consistency, and care
  • Grants Management: Ability to manage grant proposals and progress report on schedule with multiple team members' input
  • Program Management: Strong ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder program logistics from pre-event prep through execution
  • Relational Intelligence: Natural ability to build trust with fellows, mentors, and vendors
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, including comfort drafting donor- and fellow-facing communications
  • 2-3+ years in fundraising operations or program management, ideally within a capital-forward environment
  • Experience managing complex logistics and communications for a program
  • Background in nonprofit, venture capital, startup ecosystems, or faith-based organizations preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage up and exercise independent judgment rather than purely execute delegated tasks
  • Track record of hospitality-minded, detail-oriented program execution
What Success Looks Like

You will know you are succeeding when:
  • Development pipeline records, gift logs, and funding decks are consistently accurate and up to date, giving the Development Working Group reliable data to work from
  • Grant proposals and progress reports are drafted on schedule and tracked cleanly in Asana
  • The Capital Fellowship Program runs with excellence, with fellows and mentors reporting a formative, well-hosted experience
  • You take on increasing ownership of Capital Fellowship logistics and communications, operating independently and reducing reliance on the Capital Fellowship Venture Partner and Principal for Capital for day-to-day execution
