What you'll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC is seeking an Associate, Business Management in New York, New York to lead the end-to-end implementation of products and workflows, guaranteeing the establishment of appropriate booking models, trade flows, and risk infrastructure. Conduct comprehensive analysis of capital consumption and risk-weighted assets (RWA) across trading books to identify and implement optimization opportunities. Enhance capital efficiency and ensure business activities consistently meet firm-level return hurdles. Partner with Market Risk, Credit Risk, and Operational Risk teams to monitor exposures, manage stress testing, and ensure compliance with established risk limits. Proactively escalate and address potential risk breaches to maintain operational integrity. Coordinate with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards. Provide strategic analytical support to senior management through detailed financial performance metrics, resource allocation reviews, and business planning insights.

What you'll bring to the role:

-Requires a Master's degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, or a related field of study.

-Requires two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as an Associate, Analyst, or a related occupation.

-Requires two (2) years of experience with the following skills:
  • Capital calculations, including standardized and advanced approaches as regulated by the Basel II.5 and Basel III framework;
  • Leveraging knowledge of fixed income products and derivatives, including bonds, credit hedge instruments, Total Return Swaps (TRS), Credit Default Swaps (CDS), and CDS indices;
  • Applying understanding of complex transaction structures, including Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs);
  • the CCAR process, including capital implications, earnings projections and stress testing scenarios;
  • Analyzing sources of Profit and Loss (P&L), including attribution to market factors and businesses, based on business activity and market movements;
  • Preparing analysis materials for senior management, as well as presenting the information in a concise and structured manner to external and internal stakeholders; and

Collaborating with multiple teams across the business, including sales, trading, quantitative modelers, risk management, legal and compliance to ensure sound and transparent business activity.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
