As a Marketing Team member, you will leverage data-driven insights to maximize profitability for specific brand categories. Representing brands like Smithfield, Eckrich, and Nathan's Famous, you will collaborate across departments to deliver superior products. Responsibilities include developing marketing strategies and brand plans, focusing on product quality, innovation, pricing, distribution, and promotion. You'll shape category strategies, conduct pricing analyses, and perform business evaluations to drive brand performance, working closely with internal teams and external partners to implement comprehensive marketing and innovation plans.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Brand Management:
  • Analyzes market trends and consumer behaviors to inform marketing and product strategies.
  • Develops category strategies and conducts ongoing business analyses to align brand performance with business objectives.
  • Collaborates with Insights to lead consumer research initiatives for targeting, product optimization, and brand development.
  • Manages budgeting, coupon forecasting, and invoicing, while supporting legal approvals for external documents and contracts.
  • Assists in creating sales presentations, implementing customer marketing plans, and distributing tools (e.g., videos, imagery, and sell sheets) for Sales teams.
  • Engages in strategic meetings with Business Management and Sales to drive brand initiatives.


Advertising and Promotion Management:
  • Builds and maintains agency relationships, preparing internal and external brand presentations.
  • Contributes to the development and execution of annual marketing plans designed to meet brand growth objectives, ensuring a cohesive image across advertising, packaging, and promotions.
  • Provides feedback to agency partners and tests consumer messaging concepts to optimize campaigns.
  • Collaborates with Sales to develop strategic partnerships with retail partners.


Innovation Management:
  • Participates in product development by identifying target audiences, gathering consumer insights, creating product propositions, and evaluating market potential.
  • Engages in creative brainstorming exercises and concept testing to refine innovation and product pipelines.
  • Works closely with functional teams to launch new products and optimize existing ones, ensuring timely market delivery.


Leadership:
  • Drives a positive employee experience through leadership by way of employee development and coaching.


WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Marketing or related field and 3+ years' relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Leadership: Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project.
  • Data Proficiency: Strong quantitative and analytical skills required; experience with syndicated data preferred.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships required.
  • Project Management: Skilled in prioritizing projects and delivering high-value, quality outcomes.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively and respectfully in dynamic, team-oriented environments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required.


OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:
  • MBA in Marketing, or related field, and consumer marketing experience with a CPG company in food, preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% as needed.


The expected pay range for this position is $105,000 - $82,500 annually.
Smithfield Foods provides pay ranges that reflect its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the company reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of hire. Individual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, location of the position, the candidate's qualifications and experience, internal equity, external market pay for comparable positions and budget considerations.
