JOB SUMMARY:Represent institutional mortgage lenders and servicers in bankruptcy matters with a focus on protecting and enforcing secured-creditor rights in Chapters 7, 13, and 11. Provide end-to-end legal strategy across the lifecycle of a bankruptcy case, including proof of claim, motions for relief from stay, plan review and objection, loan modification and loss-mitigation oversight, and post-petition compliance. Advise clients on complex bankruptcy, servicing, and investor-guideline issues to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize financial risk, and maximize recoveries while maintaining borrower-facing and court-facing credibility.
JOB REQUIREMENTS- 2- 3 years of experience working as an Attorney in the Bankruptcy arena, at least 1 year representing creditors in Texas Bankruptcy Courts
- In good standing and an active member of the Bar
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Proven abilities to manage multiple responsibilities at once and know when to reprioritize and effectively manage a high case volume in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and rules
- Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations
- Must be able to attend hearings and mediations throughout the State of Texas
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EDUCATION- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Motivated self-starter, with the ability to multi-task as well as to manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Proficient with superior attention to detail
- Possess the ability to work under various pressures and meet strict deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and generally at ease with utilizing technology
- Overall great attitude and willingness to adapt to change
- Must possess superior organizational skills
- Can identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Gathers and analyzes information skillfully
- Can work a case file from start to finish
- Balances team and individual responsibilities while contributing to building a positive team spirit
- Examine ways to improve and promote quality
- Possess an analytical thought process and uses critical thinking skills
