Job Title: Associate, Application Engineer

Job Duties: Deliver high efficiency, high availability, concurrent and fault tolerant software and technology systems. Significantly contribute to development of Aladdin’s global, multi-asset trading platform. Design and develop innovative solutions to complex problems, identifying issues and roadblocks. Apply validated quality software engineering practices through all phases of development. Be a leader with vision and a partner in brainstorming solutions for team productivity, efficiency, guiding and motivating others. Drive a strong culture by bringing principles of inclusion and diversity to the team and setting the tone through specific recruiting, management actions and employee engagement. Collaborate with team members in a multi-office, multi-country environment.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of experience as an Analyst, Software Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer or a related role. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or one (1) year of experience as an Analyst, Machine Learning Engineer or a related role. Must have one (1) year of experience in: Python; Java; and Agile development. Any amount of experience with: Building high quality software with design-focused and test-driven approaches (Test-Driven Development); Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code language; HashiCorp Vault; Kubernetes and Cloud Native concepts; Linux environment; C++; and Golang.

For San Francisco, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD$161,637.00 - USD$162,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
