Responsibilities

  • Provide technical review and analysis of pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) data, contracts, RFPs, and program effectiveness.
  • Conduct technical analysis of RFP responses including pricing, contract details, and project scope recommendations.
  • Analyze pricing strategies and rebates for contracting.
  • Lead or assist in managing pharmacy benefits RFPs within established scope and profitability targets.
  • Manage multiple projects to develop and enhance financial tools related to pharmacy benefits.
  • Support business growth strategies, assisting leaders in business development and cross-selling.
  • Gather market intelligence to innovate unique approaches for client servicing.

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an Associate Actuarial Consultant for our Pharmacy Benefits Consulting Practice. This position affords an immediate opportunity to apply your financial acumen, analytical, and problem-solving skills and your expertise with pharmacy benefits to contribute to the development of solutions to challenging client issues. The Associate Consultant will work under the guidance and mentoring of talented senior level experts and will work independently and on teams to deliver pharmacy benefits financial analytics consulting services to a broad and diverse range of clients.

The Role
• Provide technical review and analysis of PBM data, contracts, RFPs, financial arrangements and PBM program effectiveness
• Technical analysis of RFP responses from pharmacy benefits managers including written proposals, pricing information, contract analyses and defining project scope recommendations.
• Technical analysis of rebates and contracting pricing strategies.
• May lead or assist with managing pharmacy benefits Requests For Proposals ("RFP's") for our clients within scope, profitability and productivity targets.
• Analyze and manage multiple projects simultaneously to develop, enhance and maintain pharmacy benefits-related financial tools
• Support business growth strategies and marketing initiatives to assist Leaders in business development and cross-selling efforts. Contribute to the continual development of resources, efficiencies and quality.
• Gather, utilize and share market intelligence to develop and introduce unique and/or new approaches to servicing clients. Qualifications
• 4 years of medical or pharmacy benefits financial administration and/or audit experience to include significant exposure to tools relevant to analysis of large data sets and complex financial analysis. Previous actuarial expertise is a plus.
• Undergraduate degree in business, actuarial science, or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
• Previous Medical or Pharmacy Claims Auditing, Benefits Contracting, and/or Claims Processing experience preferred.
• Strong demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with SQL. Experience with Python a plus.
• Demonstrated project management and client servicing/relationship management skills.
• Demonstrated experience setting and leading efforts to achieve revenue and/or profitability- oriented objectives with desired results.
• Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills with ability to build rapport with diverse audiences.
• Passionate attention to detail and quality.
