The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are seeking a mission-driven Associate Account Executive to join our Technical Services team and help advance that impact by supporting business development, strengthening client partnerships, and connecting customers with solutions that improve building performance and operational outcomes.

In this role, you will help drive meaningful growth by supporting sales initiatives, developing strategic relationships, coordinating proposals and client engagement efforts, and identifying opportunities that deliver long-term value for our customers and the communities we serve. Key Responsibilities

Business Development
  • Understands federal, state and local regulatory requirements impacting our business and interprets how it impacts services provided to customers to enable a more effective sales process.
  • Develops strategic partnerships with influential customer accounts through regular customer contact.
  • Executes strong project management skills for leading trade shows, conferences and events by managing third party vendors, supervising logistics of trade shows, schedules, staffing of booths, and completes event reporting including:
    • ROI analysis
    • Lead generation
    • Future event targeting aligned to business units strategic goals.
  • Reviews and discusses findings and reports with Account Executive I to:
    • Coordinate and perform duties and responsibilities such as:
      • Customer services
      • Proposal development
      • Customer acquisition strategies
      • Coordinating the start of projects, including contract development
  • Partners with Brand Services to lead request for proposals, requests for qualifications development and analyzes data to make recommendations in conjunction with sales team.
  • Develops business acumen of verticals served by McKinstry, geographic area and integrated sales approach.

Client Relations
  • Must be results-driven, action-oriented and passionate about making a positive customer impact while balancing business needs.
  • Proactively supports the customer with regards to projects financial, contractual and technical issues.
  • Supports and develops consultative relationships with potential and existing clients.
  • Utilizes McKinstry's tools and processes to support our customer relationship strategies.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry:
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Advanced business writing and editing skills with a proven ability to write copy suitable for proposals required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, sales or equivalent experience required.
  • Knowledge of building infrastructure systems, facility management, and/or critical facilities such as data centers required.
  • Five (5) years' experience or education in a marketing, communications, project management, engineering or related role required, preferably in the construction field or other professional services industry required.
  • Applicable organization affiliations and/or professional group associations preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regionally.

The pay range for this position is $71,100 - $106,300 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
