Job Summary and Qualifications

The AVP of Operations provides support to the Division Vice President of Operations for the overall operational leadership for a portfolio of centers within a specific market / territory of Surgery Ventures Group (SVG). Assists where needed and directed for all ASC operations and Physician Partnership activity while ensuring the Centers comply with requirements of any governmental or regulatory body. The AVP of Operations assists the Vice President of Operations with both new development, acquisition and business development activity. The AVP of Operations is also directly responsible for the oversight of the Division Central Business Office (CBO) with CBO leadership reporting to them as direct reports. In addition, the AVP of Operations will oversee various market wide initiatives as assigned by the Vice President of Operations.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assist in planning, development, and implementation of long term and short term strategic initiatives for surgery centers within the Division market.
  • Assist in creating operating efficiencies between surgery centers when / where possible, within their market/division.
  • Shared responsibility with Vice Presidents of Operations for membership of Division center Governing Boards and Board of Managers, as well as attendance at Physician Partnership meetings.
  • Provides input for managed care contracting to ensure market initiatives are met.
  • Assist VPO as needed with recruitment and hiring the most qualified ethically sound, and economically effective executive management personnel for the ambulatory surgery centers within the market/territory.
  • Preparation and presentation of operational and financial reports as required.
  • Key market contact between Division ASC's and Central Supply Chain leadership. Oversight of market supply savings initiatives.
  • Directs the following market wide initiatives: Productivity-Staffing Expense Management/Improvement and Supply Expense Management.
  • Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement".
  • Other duties as assigned based on business operational needs.


What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health, Business Administration or a related field is required; however, a Master's degree is highly preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience may substitute degree requirement.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within a surgery center, ASC Central Business Office, Hospital or related field is required.
  • Multi-facility experience preferred.
