Job SummaryThe Assistant Vice President for Auxiliary Operations serves as a senior operations leader for Auxiliary Services and the direct deputy to the Associate Vice President. While the Associate Vice President provides overall vision, strategy, and external partnerships for Auxiliary Services, the Assistant Vice President translates strategy into execution, ensuring day-to-day excellence, efficiency, and accountability across Auxiliary Services units. This role emphasizes operational oversight, staff leadership, customer experience, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities - Oversee Auxiliary Services' retail units, ensuring consistent, high-quality, and customer-focused service delivery
- Ensure Auxiliary Services maintains a positive campus-wide reputation by monitoring customer satisfaction, responding to escalated concerns, and implementing solutions to improve the overall experience
- Promote coordination and synergy across Auxiliary Services units, breaking down silos and fostering collaboration to achieve divisional priorities
- Act on behalf of the Associate Vice President in their absence, making operational decisions and representing Auxiliary Services with campus stakeholders as appropriate
- Translate divisional strategy, as defined by the Associate Vice President, into operational plans, measurable goals, and effective outcomes across units
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate unit directors and managers, fostering professional growth, accountability, and a culture of service excellence
- Collaborate with unit leaders to manage operating budgets, track performance indicators, and recommend operational adjustments that promote financial health and efficiency
- Drive improvements in systems, policies, and workflows to streamline operations and enhance service delivery
Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Required Experience - Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in a related field, including five (5) years in a leadership role
- Experience managing large teams
- Experience working with both revenue-generating and state-funded budgets
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Preferred Experience - Leadership experience in higher education
- Experience with self-operated auxiliary departments
- Strategic planning and capital investment experience, including building business proposals and securing cross-divisional support
Proposed Salary$100,239 - $135,339
