Overview

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of our Chicago office.

This position will build relationships with C-Suite executives, expand existing client relationships, and build strong connections with key market influencers. Responsibilities include ensuring controls are in place and mitigating risks across the business unit while maintaining compliance with corporate strategy, internal policy, applicable laws, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Credit Structuring and Underwriting - Lead the structuring, underwriting, and closing of credit solutions for assigned prospects and clients. Manage resources effectively and responsible for doing this at increasing scale. Increasing responsibility for managing the end-to-end process on all but the most complex deals, including engaging with Relationship Management, clients/prospects and Credit Admin. With oversight from senior management, engaging with other internal/external stakeholders, including Legal Counsel, to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Portfolio Management and Risk Management - Manage assigned portfolio of borrowing relationships, reviewing information, evaluating risk, and engaging with clients. Build relationships with appropriate stakeholders. Communicate internally to recommend and execute on responses to changing situations for clients / across the portfolio broadly. Ensure that portfolio management practices meet/exceed credit quality and standards. Optimize business processes and procedures for portfolio management to improve scalability. Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Team Development and Collaboration - Engage in team development, including collaboration and coaching of Associates who support the team. Foster a collaborative environment and provide mentorship to junior team members.
  • Market and Industry Expertise - Develop and demonstrate subject matter expertise within the team including market, sector and competitive trends, business models, lending models. Stay informed about industry developments and share insights with the team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Commercial banking, Credit Underwriting or Analysis, or Relationship Management and/or industry-specific knowledge in technology sectors OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Commercial banking, Credit Underwriting or Analysis, or Relationship Management and/or industry-specific knowledge in technology sectors.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 4 years of commercial banking experience underwriting
  • Strong financial modeling/analysis, memo writing, debt structuring, negotiation, and closing skills with the ability to engage and build trust with clients independently.
  • Advanced knowledge of portfolio management practices including expertise in evaluating risk and managing changing situations.

The base pay for this position is generally between $113,775-$151,700 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
