ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinate and communicate with various project stakeholders to ensure project success
- Composure and diplomatic problem solving
- Analyze applicable codes, standards, and specifications for compliance
- Perform general field inspection of Road and Bridge Construction
- Measure, calculate, and report installed quantities
- Oversee materials sampling and testing schedules
- Monitor and analyze progress of contractor's work
- Maintain various reports
- Monitor and lead inspection team
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS:- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or similar Engineering Field
- 4+ years' experience working with Chicago DOT, IDOT, Illinois Tollway, or comparable transportation agencies
- Certifications, including IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities
- Transportation design experience is a plus
- Experience on transit and/or utility projects is a plus
- Coachable and a sense of humor
- Comfortable taking initiative and exercising professional judgement
Salary Range: $90,000 - $140,000. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
