Description Burns & McDonnell's Mountain Region is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our Environmental Studies team. The APM will play a vital role in supporting the planning, execution, and overall management of complex federal environmental permitting projects and programs. Working closely with project managers, this individual will help drive program success, direct and monitor project execution, and foster strong client relationships.
Key responsibilities of the APM include: - Assist Project Managers in planning, directing, and monitoring all phases of federal environmental permitting projects from concept through completion.
- Assist with program management activities, including project intake and setup, progress tracking, and schedule management. Coordinate activities among project team members, clients, and agency stakeholders. Act as a primary liaison to maintain clear communication channels across multidisciplinary teams.
- Support the preparation of NEPA documentation and Federal and state permitting documentation for all types and sizes of environmental projects. Support the NEPA compliance process on behalf of Federal agencies and our clients.
- Prepare or review environmental reports and permit applications.
- Lead and document internal project meetings and client updates.
- Support the preparation of proposals, scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules.
- Promote and adhere to Burns & McDonnell's quality procedures and safety standards.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - B.S. or M.S. in environmental sciences, natural sciences, environmental planning, or related degree from accredited program.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience, preferably in environmental consulting or program management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to manage client and regulatory relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding work environment.
- Working understanding of GIS.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
Compensation $100,000.00-200,000.00 Yearly
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
