What this job involves:

We're seeking an Assistant Program Delivery Manager to lead the coordination and execution of high-level special events for the Amazon Travel and Events program. In this pivotal leadership role, you'll supervise and schedule Events Team members while serving as the primary point of contact for event support across high-profile areas. You'll establish policies and procedures that define world-class event support, lead site visits and planning meetings with Amazon customers and vendor partners, and drive continuous improvement in operations and service delivery. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, diplomatic stakeholder management, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You'll have the opportunity to shape the future of event delivery for one of our most strategic accounts while building and developing a high-performing team.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Supervise and schedule Events Team members, providing functional supervision of event support staff including set-up crews and third-party vendors to ensure seamless event execution
  • Lead the coordination and execution of high-level special events as requested by the Amazon customer, managing all aspects from planning through completion
  • Conduct site visits, planning meetings, and final details meetings with Amazon customers and supporting vendor partners to ensure alignment and flawless delivery
  • Establish new policies and procedures necessary to clearly define event support in high-profile areas, while providing clarity to existing policies and procedures relating to Events Team support
  • Track team progress through data metrics and create monthly reports for the Events Team Manager demonstrating team progress, workload, and performance indicators
  • Identify opportunities for improving team communication and efficiency, implementing process improvements that streamline operations and enhance service levels
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, budget information, and business review metrics while maintaining all business contact information and client documentation
  • Assist in the planning and hosting of occasional GREF-related events as needed, and assist with Facilities team communications and coordination of response activity during emergencies if deemed reasonable and prudent.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in event management, hospitality, or related field
  • 3 years of event management or relevant hospitality experience with demonstrated success in coordinating high-level events
  • Advanced competence with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and other software programs relevant to event management
  • Proven ability to supervise and coordinate teams including event support staff, set-up crews, and third-party vendors
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact effectively with officers, senior contacts within client organizations, and business associates with poise and diplomacy
  • Demonstrated ability to compose business letters, summaries, and reports using proper format, punctuation, grammar, diction, and style
  • Flexibility to work nights, evenings, and weekends as necessary to support event operations.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with Amazon Travel and Events, Amazon Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF), or similar corporate event programs
  • Proven track record of establishing policies and procedures for event support operations
  • Experience creating graphs, charts, and other complex documents for executive reporting
  • Type a minimum 60 WPM with accuracy and possess excellent proofreading abilities
  • Ability to perform basic business math including computing discount, interest, percentage, and profit/loss calculations
  • Experience tracking team performance through data metrics and creating operational dashboards
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Estimated compensation for this position:

88,000.00 - 88,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
