Department Overview

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. It is anticipated that the position will be made up of the following components: 80% Clinical FTE; 20% academic FTE

This position reports to (supervisor): Arthur Hung, MD, Interim Chair, Department of Radiation Medicine

Function/Duties of Position

  • Serving as an attending physician at OHSU, Portland VAMC, Beaverton Knight Cancer Institute and our community sites.
  • Teaching of medical students, house staff, and fellows
  • Attending departmental quality meetings, i.e. chart rounds, M&M, and others
  • Attending appropriate site-specific tumor boards and multidisciplinary clinics
  • Actively engaging in clinical practice as an employee of OHSU at OHSU Hospitals and Clinics (collectively, "Hospital" and, except as otherwise provided in this paragraph 7 of the "Clinician Employment Agreement," not otherwise)
  • Complying with the bylaws, resolutions, policies and standards of OHSU and the SoM in effect and as may be amended from time to time, including without limitation:
    1. any compliance program or policy,
    2. the OHSU Patient Care policy,
    3. the OHSU Code of Conduct policy,
    4. the OHSU Conflict of Interest policies,
    5. all policies and requirements regarding the preparation and maintenance of medical records and the billing for patient services, and
    6. OHSU Policy No. 03-30-060
  • Maintaining a good standing license to practice medicine in the state of Oregon and any other jurisdiction where licensure is necessary in order for a Clinician to perform the professional services contemplated hereunder and to maintain medical staff privileges at the Hospital
  • Participating in committees and administrative tasks as requested by the Dean of the SoM and the Department Chair.
  • Participation in the education of medical students, residents, medical technologists, and physicists in accordance with the educational mission of the department
  • Establishment and maintenance of a program of research directed toward improved understandings of the causes, detection and treatment of malignant diseases and the effects of radiation
  • Evaluation of patients referred for radiation therapy and development of treatment plans
  • Management of patients weekly and participation in tumor clinics and boards of OHSU
  • Contributions to the administration of the department
  • Participation in administrative committees and councils of OHSU
  • Engagement in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups with the knowledge and consent of the Chair.
