Facility: East Cooper Medical Center

Location: Mount Pleasant, SC

Department: L&D and NICU

Position Type: Full Time- 40/ hour week

Work Schedule: 8a-5p

This Assistant Nurse Manager will oversee both our Labor & Delivery and NICU units. We are ideally seeking a candidate with a NICU background; L&D experience is a valuable bonus. The successful candidate should be comfortable occasionally working in L&D - stepping in as charge nurse or assisting with deliveries - as staffing needs arise.

What You'll Do

  • Partners with the Nurse Manager to create a shared vision with team members and acts consistently with Novant Health's Mission, Vision, Values, and Service Standards
  • Provides clinical and administrative leadership at the unit level, fostering a culture of professional accountability and a healthy work environment
  • Coordinates provision of patient care through delegation, problem solving, time management, and organizational skills
  • Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and improve processes surrounding patient care
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops team members, supporting recruitment, retention, and succession planning
  • Monitors unit operations daily, supports safe and effective staffing, and assists with departmental audits
  • Partners with the Nurse Manager on quality improvement initiatives, data trending, and patient/team satisfaction
  • Supports timekeeping compliance, budget management, and resource allocation for the department
  • Steps into a charge role or hands-on care as needed across L&D and NICU to meet patient care and staffing need

What We're Looking For

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. BSN, preferred. Graduate Degree, preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical RN experience, preferred. Prior demonstrated nursing leadership, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. Unit/Dept Specific Required Certifications.
  • Additional Skills (required): Successful completion of generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to successfully complete Leader Education & Training.
