OverviewThe Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for Perioperative Services provides clinical, operational, and leadership support for a diverse procedural services department, including the Operating Room (OR), Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab), Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology (IR), Ambulatory Surgical Unit (ASU), and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Under the direction of the Nurse Manager and/or Director of Perioperative Services, the ANM assists in the coordination of patient care delivery, staff supervision, quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and daily departmental operations.
The Assistant Nurse Manager serves as a clinical resource and leader, promoting excellence in patient-centered care, staff engagement, operational efficiency, and interdisciplinary collaboration throughout the perioperative continuum.

Essential Responsibilities
- Assists in the oversight of clinical operations across perioperative and procedural service areas, including OR, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, ASU, and PACU.
- Promotes evidence-based practice, patient safety, and high-quality outcomes.
- Serves as a clinical resource for nursing and support staff.
- Participates in patient care activities as needed to support departmental operations.
- Ensures adherence to professional nursing standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborates with the Nurse Manager to ensure efficient daily operations and patient throughput.
- Assists in managing schedules, staffing plans, call coverage, and productivity standards.
- Participates in service recovery efforts and addresses patient, family, and staff concerns.
- Assists with monitoring quality indicators, patient safety metrics, and departmental performance measures.
- Works collaboratively with physicians, anesthesia providers, procedural leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve organizational goals.
- Supports implementation of new programs, technologies, and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Healthcare Administration, Leadership, or related field preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred, based on patient population served.
- CNOR, CAPA, CPAN, RCIS, or other specialty certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive perioperative nursing experience required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of perioperative workflows, procedural services operations, and regulatory standards.
Posted Salary RangeUSD $60.00 - USD $75.00 /Hr.
