At Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, the Assistant Director Patient Care will support the Clinical Director in overseeing daily operations of the Renal Transplant nursing unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Provides clinical and operational leadership, supervises nursing staff, promotes professional development, and assists with staffing and financial responsibilities, and patient satisfaction initiatives. Ensure that the unit is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.
As an Assistant Director Patient Care, a typical day may include: - Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services
- Assists the staff with development / implementation of the nursing process (i.e. admission assessment, discharge plans and patient teaching)
- Delegates and prioritizes work assignments according to the individual associates' competence and patient care needs
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility in managing resources, staff and supplies
- Follows established guidelines for staffing & scheduling policies, as related to daily staffing, OT, and budgetary justification

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing; a current New Jersey RN License; at least 2 years of acute care nursing experience or 2 years of acute care nursing experience with previous management experience; BLS Health Care provider. Additional certifications may be required as per the Administrative Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation "Certification" Policy. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, on the day shift, with weekend expectations based on staff needs. You will be expected to work 37.5 hours weekly, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
