Purpose

The Assistant Director of Partnerships is responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding strategic partnerships that promote the organizational growth and align with the mission of OnRamps. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities and managing relationships with key stakeholders at PK-16, regional, and state levels. The Assistant Director collaborates with internal teams to evaluate and address emerging needs and works closely with the Director of Partnerships and the Executive Director of OnRamps to support strategy development and implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Directs partnership development strategies to expand OnRamps' impact through PK-16 institutions, agency, non-profit, and higher education partnerships. Establishes long-range growth priorities and cultivates strategic relationships to increase organizational reach and supports new initiatives across Texas and nationally.
  • Leads case management strategies under the direction of the Director of Partnership and Executive Director, to accomplish acquisition, retention, growth and outcome targets in alignment with OnRamps' strategic plan. Monitors and maintains documentation of targets, activities, and outcomes, and provides regular reports on quarterly and annual goals. Serves as the primary client relationship manager for potential, new, and existing PK-16, agency, non-profit partnerships, and complex portfolios as assigned. Manages CRM documentation of regular communications/activities in alignment with partner status, needs, and strategic plan.
  • Leads and oversees the continuous improvement of annual partnership systems and cycles, including new and renewal of existing agreements, to ensure successful implementation and retention. Directs cross-team collaborative efforts to align partnership operations, systems, products, and services with other departments and organizational priorities. Supervises and provides guidance to support managers and team members as assigned to strengthen partnership support and effectiveness. Completes other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Leads analysis of partner performance, recurring issue tracking, reporting, market conditions, education policy developments, and organizational trends to stay current, identify new partnership opportunities, and inform strategic planning and decision-making in response to external factors impacting the organization's work. Establishes performance expectations and monitors, evaluates, and tracks progress toward goals to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement. Recommends strategic adjustments and applies continuous improvement principles across areas of responsibility and supervision to optimize impact, sustainability, growth, effectiveness, and goal attainment.
  • Guides strategic communications, marketing, and engagement efforts to promote OnRamps and support partnership development objectives. Collaborates on presentations, outreach strategies, and recruitment efforts to communicate organizational value. Represents the organization at external events, conferences, and meetings to strengthen visibility and attract new partnership opportunities. Provides exceptional customer service and relationship management to OnRamps stakeholders and maintains effective communication practices and professional decorum in all interactions, including status updates and the appropriate and timely escalation of issues.


Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in education, higher education, policy, or closely related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in K12 or higher education environments leading teams to meet strategic outcomes.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders with decorum and tact.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences using a respectful, client-focused approach.
  • Demonstrated understanding of high school teaching and learning.
  • Proficient in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or another LMS.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach oneself new things, develop mastery, and adjust to rapidly changing needs with an organization.
  • Five years of clinical or teaching experience at a high school or college level.
  • Experience providing support or instructional coaching to teachers, administrators, or related groups.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ten or more years of leadership experience spanning both K12 and higher education environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in external relations within the K-16 and/or higher education landscape.
  • Knowledge of the education policy context in Texas.
  • Expertise in innovative credentialing approaches in education, including technology-based certifications or badging.
  • Experience developing professional development, preferably for online delivery.
  • Experience developing and maintaining online courses within an LMS.
  • Significant experience leading large-scale partnership strategy, outreach, or business development efforts
  • Demonstrated success leading managers, overseeing complex initiatives, and achieving organizational goals.


Salary

$100,000 + depending on qualifications
