Full Job Description
The Village at St. Clairlocated in Windsor, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse - Assistant Director of Nursing Care to join their team.

Shift Details: 75 Hours Biweekly

Tentative Start Date: September 21, 2026

The expected hiring range for this position at 1-3 years of experience is $81,370 to $85,800, 4-6 years of experience is $87,550 to $94,200 and 7+ years of experience is $98,880 to $105,700. This role falls within a broader internal salary band, with growth opportunities based on demonstrated performance.

As our new Assistant Director of Nursing Care, you will:

Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of clinical care to our residents. Our Assistant Directors of Nursing Care work as key members of our leadership team to support our self-directed nursing and clinical team members in bringing to life clinical programs and quality outcomes that focus on flexible living and quality of life.

Assistant Directors of Nursing Care support the clinical and nursing team in HR-related functions as well as clinical programs. They track and analyze trends, drive quality assurance initiatives, and participate in Village-wide committees and working groups.

Our Assistant Directors of Nursing Care support our Neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams in understanding residents' individual needs, provide clinical leadership and guidance to colleagues and advocate for residents to actively participate in decisions about their care. They provide training and education to the clinical team, and manage inventory and supplies.

Assistant Directors of Nursing Care at Schlegel Villages foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic care to our residents and provide specialized clinical services and expertise.

As a new Assistant Director of Nursing Care joining our Village Team, you will:

  • Possess a current registration as a Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Hold current Heart Save Level of CPR.
  • Have three (3) years of experience leading and directing department(s) in a healthcare setting.
  • Be excited by our objectives, our Village philosophy and the family values that shape all aspects of life in a Schlegel Village.
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members.
  • Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the Assistant Director of Nursing Care role.


It would be an asset, but not required, if our new Assistant Director of Nursing team member has:

  • Experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting
  • RNAO/RPNAO membership.
  • MDS credentialed (Optional dependent on Village size).
  • An awareness and understanding of infection control practices, workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS), as well as, all relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
