Responsibilities

  • Serve as operational expert for billing operations in H+H Teaching Elective Amendment hospitals.
  • Manage billing, denial, and follow-up activities.
  • Oversee vendors involved in professional coding and billing processes.
  • Ensure timely handling of billing actions and maintenance of workqueues.
  • Analyze denials for trends and develop avoidance strategies.
  • Monitor claims volume and cash posting for accurate receivables.
  • Identify and address patterns in unpaid or denied claims.

Full Job Description
Work Shifts

9:00 A.M - 5:00 P.M

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operational expert on Professional Billing operations for H+H Teaching Elective Amendment hospitals
  • Includes billing, denial and follow-up activities.
  • Directly manage vendors responsible for professional coding and billing
  • Addressing billing and follow-up actions timely and efficiently and ensure workqueues are maintained
  • Monitor denials for trends in payer actions and develop strategies to avoid denials and takebacks
  • Monitor claims volume and cash posting to ensure accounts receivable is accurate
  • Identify patterns in claims not paid or denied and address with payers
  • Address credits and underpayments and work with Epic systems teams to automate interventions
  • Coordinate with Managed Care on increases and changes to payer contracted rates and issues with improper claims denials
  • Coordinate Central Office initiative with hospital-based teams working on professional billing revenue initiatives


Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration or a related discipline; and two (2) years of progressively responsible professional and administrative experience in receivables and payables, collections, accounting systems and procedures, reporting systems or other related experience, one (1) year of which must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or
2. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline listed in 1 above or a related discipline; and three (3) years of experience described in 1 above, one (1) year of which must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
