Position Summary
Provide analysis, planning, organization, communication and management necessary to support all aspects of Shared Infrastructure Platform Engineering Cloud Systems. This position also participates in management discussions, planning, and assisting in the development of strategic plans at the functional level. The Assistant Director will lead a team of technical staff within the WashU IT organization to ensure that WashU IT services stay aligned with university initiatives that include research, teaching, patient care, and administrative objectives.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the service delivery for assigned Shared Infrastructure Functional Area (Platform Engineering). Primary functions include:
    • Provide solution engineering, process analysis and system design of systems.
    • Manage projects and system support including supervision of personnel.
    • Ensure data integrity and security of these systems.
    • Participate in management discussions and planning at the department level to ensure that adequate resources are available to meet business requirements.
    • Provide new programming as needed to keep projects on target.
  • Provide leadership and recruitment and development of professional staff and ongoing evaluation to include resource allocations and organizational of staffing.
  • Provide disciplined project management methodology including documentation and implementation standards required to meet project milestones.
  • Recruit and develop professional staff and ongoing evaluation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
