Job Summary:Supervises, coordinates, and directs the daily administrative functions of an assigned department to ensure efficient office operations. Supervises, assigns, schedules and evaluates assigned staff. Assists in developing and coordinating staff development and trains employees as needed. Assists in writing, reviewing and updating policies and procedures related to office functions. Prepares reports and assists the Dean in other office functions as assigned.
• Supervises all personnel within specific units of Student Services and coordinates the work of support personnel within the specific unit.
• Coordinates the implementation of policies and procedures within specific units of Student Services. Conducts meetings.
• Provides direct training on new and emerging procedures, practices and related functions as approved by the Dean of Student Services.
• Develops standard operating procedures for activities and functions within the student services support area which support institutional policies and practices.
• Handles and works to resolve routine and complex student and staff concerns, complaints, and issues for the units under direct supervision.
• Serves as the section leader in the preparation of unit reports, correspondences, unit records and file maintenance.
• Lends support and direction in the monitoring and evaluation of the campus environment for student support services to include facilities, safety, and material resources.
• Develops, administers, and monitors departmental operating budgets for the units under direct supervision.
• Provides leadership in the development and maintenance of strategic goals and objectives for the units being supervised.
• Communicates and interacts with students and the public to further the interest and mission of the college.
• Performs other similar and related duties as assigned.
Job Duties:- Supervises staff and directs all functions of admissions, records, registration, V.A. INS and graduation with full responsibility for effective operation and result.
- Selects, develops and evaluates all staff in ARR; establishes goals and objectives priorities and time frames.
- Makes decisions and recommendations for district-wide program, policy and procedural changes; develops methods that ultimately improve services to students.
- Acts as a consultant with highly complex, non-standardized and varied problems requiring independent judgment, interpretations and application of a variety of practices, procedures and policies for various internal and external departments.
- Interprets and ensures compliance with state and federal laws, as well as regional and national collegiate practices.
- Represents the campus and college at internal and external meetings by presenting ideas and recommendations integral to efficient and effective collegiate operations.
- Works in conjunction with the Campus President and Campus Deans on establishing campus policies, special projects and student issues.
- Establishes, maintains and ensures the integrity of an accurate and current student database.
- Plans, maintains and administers the operating budget; prepares periodic departmental reports.
- Reviews college literature (i.e. catalog, credit schedule, calendar, brochures, forms) and provides recommendations for revision.
Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree and at least five years of prior related work experience.
