Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the Fiscal Services department as the second-in-command.
  • Perform essential accounting functions as directed by the Controller or Treasurer & CFO.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, accounts payable, and payroll processes.
  • Conduct cash flow management and cost/benefit analysis as needed.
  • Support operating budget reporting and forecasting efforts.
  • Foster collaborative relationships across departments and levels within the organization.

Full Job Description
Serve as the #2 person in the Fiscal Services department. Perform essential Job Functions as described below, along with other duties as assigned by either the Controller or Treasurer & CFO. FLH123 EDUCATION: Minimum: • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required. Preferred: • Master's degree (business, finance or accounting) is preferred LICENSE: PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: Minimum: • CPA certification is preferred. WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum: • Five (5) years of accounting and financial reporting work experience including some management level accounting experience within a hospital or health system SKILLS: Minimum: • Candidate must have knowledge of U.S. • Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP and federal and NY State financial regulations, advanced computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office and financial information systems and databases, must have a deep understanding and strong technical skills in accounting and finance including: general ledger; accounts payable; payroll; cash flow; cost/benefit analysis; revenue management; operating budget and reporting and forecasting. • Experience with labor management and productivity is strongly desired. • Candidate must have the ability to build highly collaborative relationships across functions and levels of the organization. • He/she must be considered accessible and approachable. Preferred: • Meditech and Lawson and/or Workday experience.
