Position DescriptionWe are seeking a tenacious, analytical, and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver with excellent critical-thinking, organizational, and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. This individual brings a strong work ethic, takes initiative, and contributes positivity, precision, and consistent effort to every task.
Primary Responsibilities- Preparing monthly job schedule/WIP report
- Monthly job cost/general ledger adjustments and reconciliations
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports
- Expense management oversight - ensuring credit card charges are submitted/approved/coded appropriately and timely
- Assist with subcontractor payment process, ensuring required paperwork is received and payment is made timely
- Assist other accounting staff members and operations personnel as needed
- Identify process improvements and efficiency enhancements, and work with the accounting team to implement solutions
- Participate in annual audit activities
Position RequirementsQualifications- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Public accounting strongly preferred
- Construction experience preferred
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High achiever with strong time management skills
