Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead asset management for a multifamily portfolio including market rate, workforce, tax credit, and build-to-rent properties.
  • Conduct regular meetings and calls with property management and revenue management teams.
  • Manage monthly operating statements, annual budgets, and business plans for new assets.
  • Ensure effective investor communications, including site tours and quarterly updates.
  • Oversee PM onboarding and pre-lease-up activities for new properties.
  • Provide support as an owner's representative during construction phases.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and ensure timely project completion.

About the Job. The Manager, Investment Ownership is expected to engage in any or all of a broad range of responsibilities across the real estate project lifecycle. The position demands independent technical input and decision-making in relation to JPI projects. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Investment Ownership • Lead primary asset management responsibilities for a designated portfolio of multifamily new construction assts (market rate, workforce, tax credit, build-to-rent). • Oversee regularly scheduled meetings and calls with property management team members and with revenue management representatives. • Manage monthly operating statements, annual operating budgets, and business plans for new assets. • Strong understanding of multifamily valuations, waterfalls, cash management, property financials, and sell/hold analysis. • Manage investor communications, including site tours and quarterly updates. • Handle PM onboarding and pre-lease-up activities. • Construction owner's rep support. • Third party vendor management. • Able to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously. AI and Automation • Uses approved enterprise AI tools (e.g., Claude Cowork, Microsoft Copilot) to draft, summarize, analyze, and accelerate everyday work. • Applies sound judgment to review AI-generated outputs for accuracy, tone, and appropriateness before using or sharing them. • Follows company data handling, confidentiality, and acceptable-use policies when working with AI tools and sensitive information. • Demonstrates curiosity and willingness to adopt new tools; actively participates in AI training, office hours, and adoption campaigns. • Uses AI assistants to reduce manual effort on routine tasks (email drafting, meeting notes, document summarization, basic research). Education, Work Experience, & Physical Requirements • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Urban Planning, Accounting, Real Estate, Engineering, Math or related field required. Graduate degree and/or relevant professional certifications encouraged. • Demonstrated experience in working with capital partners, market analytics, asset management, property operations, and strong negotiation skills. • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in multifamily asset management including multifamily development and lease-up experience.
