Full Job Description
Quaestor is expanding its Portfolio & Asset Management team through the addition of an Associate focused on private credit and asset-based lending. This individual will support senior team members and report to the Senior Vice President of Asset Management. Primary responsibilities include portfolio monitoring, valuation, covenant compliance, and maximizing returns across a diversified private credit portfolio. Ideal candidates are organized, self-motivated, resourceful, and able to collaborate effectively across all internal groups.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor an assigned portfolio of private credit and asset-based investments, reviewing financials and tracking covenant and loan compliance
• Assist in underwriting new investment opportunities and re-underwriting existing portfolio companies to evaluate ongoing credit quality
• Conduct quarterly valuations and mark-to-market analysis to support fair value determinations and investor reporting
• Build and maintain financial models, including cash flow projections, covenant sensitivity, duration and IRR analysis
• Analyze borrower cash flows, collateral coverage, deal structure, and sector trends to assess credit quality
• Prepare portfolio monitoring reports, KPI dashboards, and performance updates for management and investment committees
• Support implementation of dashboards, reporting tools, and AI-driven process improvements
• Support structuring and closing of amendments, add-on financings, and waivers alongside deal team members
• Draft investment committee memoranda on new investments, account amendments, and renewals
• Coordinate with legal, valuation, and accounting advisors on diligence and documentation
• Communicate with portfolio company management and sponsors, including lender calls and board meetings
• Track market and industry trends across assigned sectors and portfolio companies
• Assist in documenting process frameworks and file maintenance protocols; lead ad hoc portfolio projects

Requirements

• 2-5 years of related experience in private credit, direct lending, asset-based financing, leveraged finance, credit risk, or a related discipline desired
• MBA or CFA a plus
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
• Strong financial modeling skills and the ability to think flexibly across a variety of credit situations; effective multi-tasker
• Undergraduate degree from a top institution a plus, with a record of academic achievement
• Experience in a formal bank credit training program or top sell-side bank analyst program a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Collaborative team player who works effectively across internal groups, including legal, valuation, and accounting
