JOB SUMMARY

Bci Miami is seeking a highly qualified Asset-Based Lending (ABL) Specialist to lead the origination, credit underwriting, structuring, and execution of asset-backed credit facilities. Based in Miami's international banking hub, this role focuses on domestic and cross-border commercial lending opportunities, with an emphasis on U.S. subsidiaries of multinational corporations.

The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in borrowing base mechanics, accounts receivable purchase facilities, and inventory financing with strategic risk-adjusted return on capital (RORC / RAROC) management. Acting as a primary ABL lead, the Specialist will interface with relationship management teams, risk committees, legal counsel, external borrowers, etc. field examiners to deliver disciplined, high-yielding ABL structures.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION

The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Transaction Execution & Credit Structuring
  • Deal Leadership: Drive end-to-end deal execution from initial term sheet structuring through credit committee approval and final deal closing, serving as primary product specialist.
  • Facility Structuring: Design customized ABL revolvers, borrowing base facilities, accounts receivable purchase solutions, and other tailored to corporate working capital needs.


Credit Underwriting & Due Diligence
  • Comprehensive Analysis: Perform deep-dive financial analyses of corporate borrowers and, if applicable, parent guarantors, analyzing balance sheets, cash flow dynamics, liquidity drivers, and operational risks.
  • Field Examination Oversight: Scrutinize third-party field exam reports, collateral quality assessments, inventory appraisals, and accounts receivable aging reports to establish precise borrowing base formulas.
  • Credit Committee Presentations: Author detailed credit risk memoranda and present complex transaction structures to Credit Officers and Regional Credit Committees.


Cross-Border Business Development & Portfolio Governance
  • Cross-Border Strategy: Leverage Miami's strategic position to originate cross-border ABL facilities.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Oversee ongoing post-closing credit compliance, covenant evaluations, collateral reconciliations, and periodic borrowing base certificate audits.
  • Relationship Management: Partner with Relationship Managers to cross-sell treasury management, foreign exchange, trade finance, and debt advisory services.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read and write English and Spanish
  • Effectively speaking before groups of customers or employees
  • Assume evolving duties and responsibilities of position
  • Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (including, weekends, evenings and holidays as needed)
  • Travel as required
  • Provide coverage for other positions as requested
  • Ability to carry and lift boxes and objects that may weigh between 10 and 25 pounds.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management


COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:

COMPUTER:

Ability to operate IBM compatible personal computers; fluency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related business field required

Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 10 years of specialization in Asset-Based Lending (ABL).

Advanced expertise in borrowing base calculations, collateral field examination techniques, documentation, and credit risk modeling.

Exceptional written credit writing and oral presentation skills, with a track record of defending complex credit proposals before executive risk committees.
