ABOUT THIS ROLE

St. Michael's is hiring an Asset Accounting Lead/Senior Asset Accountant to support an Intelligence Community (IC) client. As the Asset Accounting Lead/Senior Asset Accountant, you will lead and perform asset accounting, reporting, and reconciliation support for real property, personal property, Plant, Property, and Equipment (PP&E), Internal Use Software (IUS), leases, and Construction in Progress (CIP). You will be in a client-facing role that will benefit from your knowledge of applicable Federal accounting standards, asset lifecycle accounting, depreciation and amortization, reconciliations, and asset-related financial statement support. Our core value of Teamwork will be paramount to this role as you be a team lead responsible for coordinating with Government property accountability, logistics, financial reporting, and accounting personnel to maintain accurate, complete, supportable, and audit-ready asset records.

WHO YOU ARE
  • Active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) with CI Poly clearance.
  • Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of Federal accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in PP&E, IUS, lease accounting, depreciation and amortization, Construction in Progress (CIP), and asset-related financial statement support.

PREFERRED:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential, with knowledge of applicable Federal accounting standards related to PP&E, IUS, leases, impairments, and asset accounting support processes.
  • Previous experience supporting Intelligence Community customers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and perform asset accounting, reporting, and reconciliation support for real property, personal property, PP&E, IUS, leases, and CIP.
  • Maintain and validate asset accounting data, including acquisition cost and date, useful life, depreciation or amortization method, accumulated depreciation or amortization, location, custodian, condition, and disposal information.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations among property management systems, GL control accounts, financial statement balances, and other relevant source systems; document reconciling items and recommend corrective actions.
  • Calculate and prepare support for depreciation and amortization entries using Government-approved methods, useful lives, capitalization thresholds, and applicable accounting guidance.
  • Support accounting for asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, retirements, impairments, lease activity, and CIP, including identification of stale CIP balances and timely transfer of completed projects to active asset accounts.
  • Prepare asset-related financial statement schedules, reconciliations, note disclosure support, and other documentation for quarterly and annual reporting and audit support.
  • Coordinate with Government property accountability, logistics, financial reporting, and accounting personnel to investigate inventory variances, support physical inventories, and maintain complete, organized, and audit-ready records.

COMPENSATION: As required by applicable law, St. Michael's Inc. provides reasonable pay ranges for positions based on labor market conditions in locations where compensation transparency is required. The base pay range for this position is $140,000 to $180,000. Final compensation may vary depending on geographic location, relevant skills, experience, and other job-related factors. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, based on company and individual performance.
