Full Job Description
The Assembly Supervisor oversees and supervises multi-disciplined teams including mechanical and electrical assemblers. This position is located Deer Park, NY facility and reports to the Director of Manufacturing at Modern Packaging.
• Act as primary leader and internal/external interface for shop floor.
• Supervise, motivate, and coach a team of direct internal reports tasked with the assembly of packaging machines.
• Establish work procedures to meet customer requirements and product standards.
• Enforce employee adherence to safety and health policies and regulations.
• Facilitate prompt, meaningful communications with supporting representatives from engineering, materials management, shipping and receiving to resolve technical issues that arise.
• Define scope of work and provide feedback received by project engineers to assemblers.
• Conducts machine inspections and assembly completion verification in preparation for Factory Testing (FAT) and machine shipment.
• Coordinate with multiple departments to expedite part completion, part modifications, commercial part requests/orders.
• Routinely report progress of operations tasks and drive proactive and reactionary actions.
• Maintain records and documents of daily production and dispatched goods
• Train future team members.
• Complete meaningful individual performance evaluations, delivering feedback both positive and critical.
• Effectively communicates to the Director of Manufacturing on personnel related matters.
• Act as channel for management initiatives that streamline operations, drive efficiency, and ensure quality.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree preferred or substantial technical experience in the field in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of experience in equipment fabrication and assembly.
• Demonstrated experience with the administrative functions of a supervisory role. Especially in overseeing and aligning work assignments to ensure an efficient and consistent workflow.
• Effective change management, problem solving, and communication skills (both oral and written).
• General knowledge of manufacturing processes, techniques, practices.
• Experience with SolidWorks, Creo and Auto CAD a plus.
• Experience reading mechanical prints and electrical schematics.
• Able to define a problem, gather data to draw conclusions. and develop appropriate plans to address.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization abilities.
• Relevant experience working with a Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system.
• Proficient in business software (MS Office or similar).

Base Salary Range - $90,000 - $105,000
