ArchaeologistThe Archaeologist position will provide cultural resource program support for major utility companies in California. May involve fieldwork but will largely be focused on coordinating environmental reviews, staffing field projects, authoring or overseeing preparation of cultural resources reports, obtaining and maintaining agency cultural resources permitting, and acting as POC for client cultural resources staff and subconsultants. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in fieldwork and technical writing, and an interest in growing these skills in a collaborative team environment.
Position can be based out of ICF's Los Angeles, Irvine or San
Diego offices with the option to work remote or hybrid from office and home.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support field efforts in southern and central California as needed. Short term travel may be involved, with work occurring outdoors under all weather conditions.
- Lead author for survey and monitoring reports.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with ICF staff, client, and subconsultants.
- Meet deadlines, track concurrent ongoing tasks, and produce quality work.
- The ability or interest to lead cultural resources tasks, including fieldwork, report deliverables.
Qualifications- Master's degree in Archaeology or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in cultural resources management.
- 2+ years of experience conducting field visits at locations primarily in southern and central California.
- Must have valid driver's license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
Preferred Skills/Experience - Familiarity with California cultural resources and associated regulatory environment.
- Fieldwork skills include pedestrian and subsurface survey, site recordation, testing and evaluation, monitoring.
- Knowledge and familiarity with computers, smart devices, and completing data entry in application interfaces and use of GPS technology (such as ESRI Collector, Survey 123 or Field Maps).
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$60,967.00 - $103,643.00
